Summer in the mountains has long become something different to what it once was: the offer is now more varied than ever before and the attractions themselves vast in number and full of pleasurable moments. Countless leisure activities await visitors in picturesque Val Gardena. The Dolomites offer themselves as large open-air gyms where you can choose between the most varied of sporting activities.
The unique freshness of the mountains, the pure air and a good 80% days of sunshine during the summer make for wonderful physical pursuits in an unspoilt environment.
Ahead of all other sports, walking receives a special mention: and not only is it a farmer's passion, but also that of the countless number of visitors who visit the valley, easily spotted every day on the mountains and meadows. When the days stretch out and the sun shines over the imposing mountain peaks, it is as if the peaks themselves invite the hikers to continue their walk across meadows in full bloom. For those who sample the feeling of freedom and of unlimited choice in the heart of the Dolomites, it is indeed difficult not to contemplate putting down more permanent roots and the temptation not to leave is always strong!.
The paths are as numerous as they are varied and offer hikers countless opportunities to explore this UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.

The idea for an unforgettable experience: walking the UNESCO-Natural Heritage Site
The committee of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre declared in 2009 the Dolomites a Natural Heritage Site: rock towers and mountain peaks originating from ancient coral reefs.
The path for journey to explore culture: Culturonda Dolomythos
The culture guide offers a new view of the Dolomites over 12 areas, and not only of the mountains but even of the people who live there and their history. The project comprises the South-Tyrolean mountainous region geographically and thematically and covers 12 themes. For each theme Culturonda Dolmythos has chosen three particular spots: the routes can be organized and combined freely.
